Parent Teacher Organization

Dear Parents,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome the Christ the King families to the 2011-2012 school year. The PTO Board Members are anticipating an exciting year for all.  We look forward to completing the projects that were approved by our families last year and implementing new ideas that develop this year. Thank you to everyone who participates in making positive changes to continue our theme of Simple, Effective, and Fun!
The primary function of the PTO is to support and promote quality Catholic education, share with teachers the values that parents are attempting to develop with their children at home, and provide a means by which parents may raise funds to help benefit the students of CTK.
As a CTK family, you are automatically enrolled in the PTO. In lieu of any catalogue fundraisers, dues are $90 per family each year. General meetings are held every other month. Our first meeting is September 21 at 7pm in the school gym.  Before meetings you will enjoy activities like visiting your child’s classroom or watching a class performance directed by our music teacher, Mrs. Hardwick. I encourage you to come hear and see what new and exciting things continually happen at CTK. Your child will also strongly encourage you to attend since they receive a “dress down” pass every time you come.  If you are unable to attend, minutes from each meeting are posted on the PTO bulletin board located near the entrance to the gym and on Edline.
There is a wealth of information about your PTO on Edline. I encourage you to check it regularly for upcoming events, the latest meeting minutes, volunteering opportunities and newsletters.  The family directory is also accessible on Edline with your password, usually by October.
Also, please read the weekly CTK newsletter that comes to you via e-mail.  PTO events and updates are included so don’t miss the latest happenings.
Our PTO manages a very successful Scrips gift card fundraising program called Cougar Cash. You can actually earn money to put towards your tuition by simply purchasing gift cards from the PTO for items and services you would be using anyway.  A percentage of each card is split between the PTO and your tuition account. Visit our Cougar Cash site on Edline or talk to our program coordinator, Mrs. Elizabeth Kukanich at ekukanich@ctkparish.org to learn more.
We have a terrific group of parents volunteering to be your PTO Board members. Please contact any of us at any time about how you can become involved. There are so many Simple, Effective, and Fun ways to contribute your time and talents from home or at school to help make CTK an even better place for our teachers and children. Thank you for making your family a special part of the CTK PTO family.

God bless,
Alexis Beaver,
CTK PTO President
