Fine Arts |
Meets on the first Thursday of the month from 3:00-4:15; you can join at any time in the year. The Art Club is open to grades 3 - 6. The purpose of this club is to teach the students the basic art of drawing, sketching, and watercolor. This will also help enhance the hidden artistic abilities and to help develop and improve skills. This is time to experiment with different mediums, techniques, styles and to learn to express oneself in art. Also, we are going to learn about local artists, major historical figures, and international influences. |
Science Club |
Christ the King's Science Club is an extracurricular activity offered to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The purpose of the club is to provide students, individually or in small groups, an opportunity to explore their scientific interests and to compete in the annual Tidewater Science Fair (Junior Division). The group meets on Tuesday afternoons from 3 to 4 PM. |

Student Council |
Christ the King School Student Council is a representative structure for students only, through which they can become involved in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with school management, staff and parents, and the parish for the benefit of the school and its students. The student council helps share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school principals. They often also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social events, community projects and school reform. |
Peer Mediation |
Christ the King offers a peer mediation program in which students help others (grades PreK - 8th) resolve disputes that may arise. Students learn to talk with each other, understand each others’ differences and help find a resolution to the problem. The 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders help with the mediation. These students complete an application, interview and training. This is a wonderful program for our students to participate and to help within the school community. |
